Four Months Old

Has it really been four months since this little guy made his entrance? I can't imagine life without him, but, at the same time, the past four months have gone very quickly.

And for any birthday there should be a gift, right? I had fun going through my mom's stash when we were home and picking all the fabrics for these bibs. They are backed with a unbleached quilting flannel and I just finished putting velcro on them this morning. I've always used snaps on bibs, but thought I would try the velcro this time around.

Rowan's been 'ready' for solids for awhile I think. He is a big boy and has been eyeing us eating food at the table since before Christmas. So, we're adding solids in at the early end. I do love this milestone. I love blending and mashing and grinding all manner of grains, fruits, veggies and other wholesome goodies.

To begin with we added some avocado puree. I used The Super Babyfood Book with Jonah and this is the recommended starting food as it is so nutritious and very non-allergenic.

At first he wasn't quite sure, but then how he loved it! He only got a few small bites for tonight, but I have a feeling he would have put away quite a bit more had we let him. Bring on the baby food making.
