Naming

We identified leaves on our adventure outing two weeks ago and have been talking about and naming trees ever since.  The other day Jonah and I were eating our lunch in the backyard, when he looked over and said "Mom!  Someone put a Laurel in our yard!"  I've been living with this beautiful moment of revelation and thinking about the power of naming.  Now that he could name the large bush it was there.  It has always been there (at least for the time we've been living here), but he couldn't know it fully because he couldn't name it.
