Organizing in the New Year

It used to be my Dad who seemed to find my stray pins and needles (with his feet - ouch!) and now it is my dear Jim... so I've been trying to figure out how to change how I sew to reduce the amount of stray pins and needles.  Okay, it was actually when I found the baby holding a pin that I really started to think.  I realized that I only packed one very small pin cushion when we moved across the sea, so I decided that making a couple more would be a good first step.  It was a fun New Year's project as I'm always in the mood to get organized after Christmas.  I also tackled my embroidery basket, which had become a mass of rainbow floss - now on cards in their container.  Now if I could only feel equally motivated to clean out the bathroom cupboard and the pantry, but at least I'm ready to sew.  (And I've definitely been sewing, as you will see in the week to come!  If only Jim was always on break - that would be bliss.)

Happy New Year, Emily! You organize so beautifully. I, too, am thinking on that topic this week, so we'll see how it goes!

Sounds like it is the season for organizing.

And, perhaps it does look good... but my real goal is to stay organized, for that is definitely my short coming!
