Day 16 - A November discipline of giving thanks each day
L'Abri is a place that has loomed large in Jim and my imaginations for some time. From what we understood it was a place where a love of hospitality, a passion for learning, a commitment to creative living and a calling to care for souls all meshed together somehow. And while there are so many things I could say about this place and our time there, the best way to sum it up is to simply say that we weren't disappointed. Learning, living and healing were all happening fully in community. We are so grateful for a glimpse into this place and hope to return soon. As the days went on a feeling of excitement over this place built as Jim and I long to minister in this way (not necessarily at L'Abri, but with the same focus on living, working, studying and hospitality.)
And as I mentioned yesterday, I had a lot of pictures off of our balcony and want to share a couple more. I loved this balcony; from watching the sunrise to Jonah owling at night.

hey! have you read edith's book on homemaking? i liked it a lot and used it in my thesis.
Yes, I read it while I was there. It is quite good and interesting in light of the current homemaking movement - nothing is new under the sun :o)
