Couch Cushions

I've been meaning to make couch cushions since we moved into this house. The couches aren't that comfortable and are large, red and rather cartoonish, so a distraction was in order. It has been at the top of my list of projects for the past year and only took one nap and an evening to make... so why did it take a over a year? I'm never quite sure why I do some projects with gusto and not others.
Perhaps the yellow and red fabrics that Mom brought to Wales and a few I had around were the nudge of inspiration I needed.
Over Christmas I had chosen some silk to make the cushions out of, but then thought about this factor...
yes, they needed to be sturdy and washable...
If I were to make them over I would be more intentional about what colors were where; but they are happy, fun, and a great backdrop for two content boys.

Those are beautiful! Is that a Soule pattern? I know she has some different things like that and I'd love to try it sometime..

Elisa, It is just a traditional log cabin. You just cut a square and start adding strips around it - I'd venture to say that it is the easiest quilting pattern out there, because even with a classic patching you have to work to match corners, and these just work (though if you were sewing several together then you would need to match the patches)! But you are right, soulemama does make quite a few log cabins.
