Warmth continues to be my theme right now. We didn't discover the wonders of the hot water bottle till last winter. It is such a brilliant thing - pop one in your bed and you are toasty all night. It doesn't help when you are trying to get out of bed in the morning, but we'll take one battle at a time. And in this drafty old house we are finding that a hot water bottle is a great companion when you want to cuddle up with a book or project. I had fun making simple flannel slip covers for the bottles - nothing fancy, a pillow case of sorts. The boys are double flannel (Pooh and trains) and Jim and mine (trees and circles) are single ply (I wanted to be sure they weren't too hot when we pop them in bed with the boys).
The search for warmth continues...

What a great idea! I want one! :)
Yes, I don't know if I could survive in a world without hot water bottles! And only once (while living at the coal-furnace heated hunting camp) did the bottle ever leak--boy was that a wet surprise! And I always loved tucking Darius and Tierney in with a hot water bottle-- feels like extra-special nurturing!
