Happy St. Patrick's Day
Today we are...
: Eating Sausages and potatoes
: Using our story bag to tell the tale of St. Patrick
: Wearing Green
: And Reading St. Patrick's day Tales (see note below)
Happy Saint Patrick's day. According to the green top hat a man was wearing at the bus stop this morning, it is "the friendliest day of the year."

Book Note: We've been really enjoying Tomie dePaola's Patrick: Patron Saint of Ireland this year. It is so well told and I think it might be my favorite of Tomie dePaola's books. The illustrations are so rich and accessible.
We are also loving St. Patrick's Day on the Morning by Eve Bunting and illustrated by Jan Brett, St. Patrick's Day by Gail Gibbons, and This is Ireland by M. Sasek
I'm enjoying The High Deeds of Finn MacCool by Rosemary Sutcliff. She is one of my favorite authors and the book is wonderful for older children and adults.
Any other St. Patrick's day favorites?
