Sometimes You Just Need to Go to the Beach

Yesterday was hot and a friend called just before two to say they were headed to the beach. I had spent the morning at home a bit sniffly. I was feeling much better and the beach sounded so good and so the adventure began. It took two hours to feed Rowan, reclothe us all, plaster two boys with sunscreen, pack up sand toys and extra clothes, get a bag with baby necessities together, find water bottles and a blanket, walk to town, meet Jim, buy sandwiches for dinner, walk to the beach, find our friends...
But, it was worth every minute of it. After all, we live by the North Sea and it is beautiful. We all arrived home just in time for the boys bed time tired and very sandy. Everyone slept well last night.
