Athan Michael joined us Tuesday morning at 6:24. We are so very grateful for our forth little man!
Athan is named after St. Athanasius, who is often called the father of the Nicean creed and who's contribution in church history has meant so very much to the doctrine of the church today. We also love that our baby born in the season of Easter has a name that means 'Eternal Life'. Michael is a family name and we hope this little one will share his great-grandfather and great-uncle's spirit of generosity! Michael means "Who is like God?", but what I really loved was the image of the angel Michael, who was a messenger for God.
Our prayer is that this wee man will be a messenger of eternal life!
Welcome, precious boy! Congratulations, Watkins family! We'll be so excited to watch Athan grow in your sweet family.
ReplyDeleteHe's positively wonderful!! Such a sweet and peaceful face. I love him!
ReplyDeleteSo do you pronounce it like Aslan but with a "th" in the middle? I love the meaning behind the name. And I am also a fan of Michael, being that it is my second son's middle name. :-) Congrats again!
